A Farm House In France
Situated in SW France, this lovely old farm house has just been put on the market.
(see links page)
The appearence of the first floor landing is marred by tatty grained cupboard doors.
Oh Dear!
These doors have had a dark stain painted on them over the years. The wood is not of a quality that warrented stripping, so it was decided to paint them to be inkeeping with the rest of the woodwork.
Blanking out.
Layers of wax were impossible to totally remove, so a coat of a contract white emulsion was applied.
Chalk Paint.
Using Annie Sloans Chalk Paint for the next coat meant that the old wax would not bleed through.
Paint & Liming Waxes
Several colours of paint were applied, with liming wax. A darker wax was then applied to age the doors.
Thats Better!
An application of clear wax was added to the finished doors, which will help to protect them, and make them easier to clean.
